Horse Welfare Inc has been in operation now for over 20 years. We have contributed a mammoth effort towards the welfare of equines in NSW over that time. Some years rehoming up to 120 horses. Our record stands behind us and our reputation precedes us. There is no doubt that we have done more than our share. As good as we are, and as seamless as it appears, we cannot do it alone.
To provide our horses with the best possible chance for a lifelong home we need to invest in professional training. At the moment we are all working harder and digging deeper into our own pockets to fund the high cost of feed through the drought. This leaves us unable to do the training we would normally perform ourselves. We are also due to pay some annual fees for some of the land we lease. In this current climate we cannot afford to do without these extra blocks. Hay is still costing us a pretty penny and its fair to say that our financial situation is dire.
Same story I hear you say??? What makes us different to all the other rescues out there asking for money?? In some cases, not a lot, there are so many reputable groups all deserving of support. For us though, Its our relentless commitment to take on the jobs that others wont. It’s the countless hours to find solutions at our own expense. It’s the life and industry experience we pour into each individual soul we encounter. It’s the longevity of our existence in the industry. And most importantly it’s the track record for getting jobs done with success.
The target of this fundraiser will ensure better futures for HWI horses. For all they’ve given.
