So lets talk about some of the activities you could assist with…
On a daily basis we have hands on roles for people who have horse experience (or are willing to learn). These include:
- 7 day roster of morning and afternoon feeds, water filling, cleaning the paddocks and yards
- Handling
- Grooming
- Training
- Transport
- Fostering (managed care program in your own facility)
For those who really would like to help but don’t have the availability to participate in a roster or commit on a regular basis:
- Social media admin
- Photography
- Marketing and design
- Learning and development
- Fundraising promotions
- Public relations
- Grant writing and submission
- Accounting
- Legal and contracts
- Gear sales
- Volunteer and roster coordination
- and anything else you could possibly think of…
In some instances though, and particularly with regards to animal welfare, this line of work can carry some heartache. Whilst we do appreciate the intent to volunteer.
